Fido’s First Contest

Mark Rogers Louis MalteseHere at Fido Factor we love to check out new dog friendly places in the Bay Area.  In fact, our resident pup, Captain, practically pulls us into any car with an open door.  We wanted to inspire you to check out some of the amazing San Francisco dog friendly places and share your finds with the Fido Factor community.  So this month we’re launching our first of many great Fido Factor contests.

We are offering a Mark Rogers pet photography package to the dog (or owner) that enters the most dog friendly locations and reviews.  If you don’t know Mark, he was voted the Bay’s 2008 Best Pet Photographer and was the winner of the prestigious American Humane photo contest.

Here are the official rules:

Anyone can enter by creating an account (or logging in with Facebook Connect) on Fido Factor and sending an email with their username to contest@fidofactor.com.   The contest will run from Sept 18th through Friday, October 23rd.  Any new dog friendly location or review, regardless of geographic location, counts as one point.  The user with the highest total will be the winner.   The winner will receive a pet photo shoot with Mark Rogers in San Francisco.   Shoot locations outside of San Francisco will be at the discretion of the photographer and may be subject to a fee.   Fido Factor employees and their families are not eligible.

Now get out there and have some doggie fun!

Hollywoof Movie Night

Hollywoof Green CarpetOn August 14th the Fido Factor team headed over to Oakland for the Hollywoof movie premiere of MINE, organized by Dogopolis.  MINE is an independent documentary that chronicles the plight of the Hurricane Katrina dogs and their owners.  It is an amazing, heartbreaking movie that has been making the rounds on the film festival circuit.

The Dogopolis crew did a great job of organizing the event.  Over 200 people and 80 dogs came out to enjoy the evening.  In addition, the event featured dog friendly vendors including The Rex Center, Kendra Luck Dogumentarian, and Maddie Girl organic dog food.

Some of the night's highlights included the green carpet photos, Oscar Meyer Weiner car, and the dozens of well behaved dogs.  You can check out the official pics on the Dogopolis Facebook page as well as Captain's Vizsla Thing blog.
